Old Indian Crewel work

This very old embroidery from India, it's actually more of a crewel piece, has a large medallion in the middle, but sadly also has lots of stains. The body of the piece is horizontal and the ends are vertical, like lots of Indian saris. As one sees in Indian colorations, they had no fear of red on red. This basic cotton fabric has been turned into a very complicated and earthy elegant piece by using a very simple embroidered motif and some strategic mirrors.

This is the color app's vision of the palette and I thought it was really interesting.
